IRISH GEORGE II/III set of 12 Sterling Silver Table Knives. Circa 1760

Sold

Good-looking set of 12 Irish GEORGE II/III sterling silver table knives with replacement blades.

Circa 1760.

The handles are of very good weight. They are cast silver only and are hollow and not filled.

The Hibernia duty mark is stamped at the top of one side of the handles and the makers mark is stamped on the opposite side. The makers mark is visible but indistinguishable.

The stainless steel blades are excellent quality and were put in at a later date but are totally in keeping with the period of the handles. Each handle is engraved with a family crest of a demi-lion facing left with the right paw raised.
