GEORGE IV STERLING SILVER APPLE CORER. MAKER Wm. BARRETT II. LONDON 1825.

GEORGE IV STERLING SILVER APPLE CORER. MAKER Wm. BARRETT II. LONDON 1825.

£900

Attractive and unusual GEORGE IV sterling silver apple corer.
Maker: William Barrett II. London 1825.

The corer screws into the handle for protection. There is ribbing on the top and bottom of the handle.
The full set of hallmarks and the marker's mark are stamped on the handle and the corer. The maker's mark on the handle is slightly rubbed while the marks on the corer are crisp and clear.
A contemporary family crest is engraved on both the handle and the corer.
This is a very fine example of a Georgian apple corer and would still useful for picnics or travelling today.
