Unusual and imaginative Victorian parcel-gilt bowl decorated with beaded panels and stars. The interior of the bowl is silver gilt throughout.
Maker: George Fox. London 1873
The panels are interspersed with stars with beaded points. The matted background is engraved with intertwined decorative leaves. The gilding on the inside of the bowl is a very beautiful warm colour,
George Fox was renowned for his unusual designs and this bowl is very much up to standard and would have many uses in the house.
The full set of hallmarks is very clearly stamped on the reverse of the bowl and are crisp. There are also some informative scratched markings in code on the base.
