Delightful Edward VII Novelty Silver Owl Scent Bottle.
Maker: Sampson Mordan and Co. Chester 1906.
The scent bottle has a plain tapering glass body. The screw-off cover is modelled as an owl's head with textured feathers and set with glass eyes.
Sampson Morden was renown for making novelty model items.
The full set of hallmarks and the maker's mark are clearly stamped on the reverse of the screw-on cover.
This would make an excellent gift.
Provenance: The late Greta Morrison, a Canadian model in the 1970's, wife of Bryan Morrison, the manager of Pink Floyd.
