Very attractive set of 2 JAMES II small silver gilt chased trefid forks and 2 matching trefid spoons.
Markers mark only (mark on one spoon barely visible): J.C. (attributed by Kent to John Clifton). London circa 1685.
The spoons and forks are chased both on the front and the back with scrolling acanthus leaves.
The two spoons have a rat tail on the reverse of the bowl surrounded by flame decoration.
These charming spoons and forks were probably used for eating sweetmeat.
