Elegant GEORGE V Arts and Crafts Silver Bowl.
Maker: Omar Ramsden. London 1935.
A circular tapering bowl with spot hammered decoration. The bowl sits on a raised circular foot with rope work borders.
The gilded underside bottom rim of the foot is inscribed 'To E.A.L & L.L's mark From M.M.L.H-M.E.G & G.H.H APL14 1856-1936'. The underside side wall of the foot is engraved 'OMAR RAMSDEN ME FECIT'.
This bowl has an attractive shape and has many uses today. Omar Ramsden is one of the best known Arts and Crafts silversmiths and his work is very desirable.
The full set of hallmarks and marker's mark are clearly stamped on the underside of the bowl.
