Smart George III sterling silver salver of substantial weight on three legs.

Makers: Hannam & Crouch. London 1804.

A contemporary crest of a right hand holding a broken arrow is engraved in the centre. The gadrooning around the edge is generous and this is echoed on the three legs.

The full set of hallmarks, as well as the markers mark is clearly stamped on the reverse of the salver.

This size of salver is a very convenient one and much loved by butlers.

Hannam & Crouch were specialist makers of salvers and trays and also made some excellent candlesticks but do not appear to have made any other type of silver.
