GEORGE III Sterling Silver Skewer by Thos. and Wm. Chawner. London 1764.
GEORGE III Sterling Silver Skewer by Thos. and Wm. Chawner. London 1764.
Beatifully simple and of a very good weight GEORGE III sterling silver skewer.Makers: Thomas and William Chawner. London 1764.The front is engraved with a contemporary family crest of the left front claw of a beast. The reverse is remarkable for the extreme crispness and sharpness of the hallmarks and also of the marker's mark and the skewer is finished off with a simple ring at the end. The considerable weight of the skewer is apparent by the depth of the blade. It is very pleasing and comfortable to hold and would make an excellent gift.Length: 12.5 inchesWeight: 3.6 troy ounces

Excellent. There are some scratches showing on the blade which are natural wear and tear.
