The bottom part of the belt is ornately engraved. The reverse is plain with the makers mark, MEDLOCK, struck at the bottom and the abbreviation for Inverness beneath. In the centre there is a sturdy horizontal pin secured by a hook. A number of Arthur Medlocks clan badges have very similar ornate engraving on the lower part of the clansmans belt and buckle.
