Very eye-catching Victorian Scottish silver clan badge with the crest and shield of MacNab. Circa 1880. Not hallmarked. Head of a savage, affrontee Proper, with below shield of arms, three crescents on a chevron, in base below, an open boat with oars on water. All surrounded by a belt and buckle which is the symbol of a clansman. The MacNab motto - TIMOR OMNIS ABESTO (Let fear be far from all) is inscribed on the belt. The reverse of the badge is plain with a horizontal pin secured by a hook and a small loop at the top.
