Victorian Scottish silver clan badge with the crest of Grieve of Roxborough. Circa 1880. Not hallmarked. The front of the badge has the cut out Grieve crest of a dexter arm in armour embowed, with the hand grasping a dagger and is surrounded by a belt and buckle which is the symbol of a clansman. The Grieve motto - HOC SECUNOR (Safer by this) is inscribed on the belt. The reverse of the badge is plain with a horizontal pin secured by a hook.
This badge is smaller than the average clan badges and may well have been worn on a beret.
