William Bateman I
EnglandWilliam Bateman I was the grandson of Hester Bateman (b. 1704) and descendant of a well established Silversmith family. William became a partner in 1815. His work changed from 1825 onward with the loss of much of the delicate pieces with lovely lines and proportions by the move in style toward the Victorian.
