Unusual pair of Victorian silver gilt perfume bottles on stands with an Oriental flavour.

Maker: George Fox. London 1871.

These bottles are extremely well made as one would expect from this maker. The cork on the pull off lids is tipped with silver gilt which facilitates applying perfume. One of the lids is engraved JOCKEY CLUB the other is NO NAME. The body of each bottle is engraved with a decorative design and each has two handles with a striking motive which is echoed in the engraving of the stands.

Both the stands are fully marked with makers mark and hallmarks. The base of each bottle is fully hallmarked as are also the top of the lids while the makers mark is stamped on the silver gilt tipping each cork.
