Antique Scottish silver Clan Badge - Archer

Extremely Fine antique Scottish silver Clan Badge for Archer. Possibly Baron Archer of Umberslade. Made by Peter G Wilson in Inverness, circa 1890s. Obverse: A dragons face and neck, facing left, emerging from a coronet. The family motto is applied on the surrounding clansmans belt. SOLA BONA QUAE HONESTA. Reverse is plain with a vertical belt loop on the right and a hook at centre left. The abbreviation for Inverness is struck on the bottom of the reverse of the badge, with the makers mark beneath.
Size :- 2.3 inches (5.8 cm) long x 2 inches (5 cm) wide
This very fine example was probably used on a belt and not on a shawl.
